Ever since Tom Holland made his spectacular debut as the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s version of Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War, fans have embraced him as a worthy successor to Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. Holland’s take on the wall-crawling, web-slinging wonder was first revealed in a trailer for Civil War early in March 2016. And in July of this year, Spidey will be swinging into theaters again, this time as the star of his first solo movie set in the MCU, Spider-Man: Homecoming.
In a rather radical departure from Sony Pictures’ two attempts at establishing Spidey’s film franchise, Spider-Man: Homecoming will not be an origin story. Instead, the film will take place some time after the events of Civil War, as evidenced by Spidey’s new suit and gear (first seen in Civil War) given to him by Iron Man. The armored Avenger has been confirmed to be a supporting character in Spider-Man: Homecoming – a cinematic team-up opportunity with Spidey that was not possible in Maguire’s and Garfield’s films due to licensing and rights limitations.
The decision to focus on a Spidey who had already begun his career – as opposed to going through the motions of yet another spider-bite and yet another Uncle Ben getting shot – keeps the story fresh, and also creates a few potential story threads that later movies could pick up on. One of these is what Spidey’s first costume looked like before Tony Stark gave him his new tech-enhanced (but classic-looking) suit. And thanks to some upcoming toy solicitations and images from Hasbro, we finally know the answer to that, and then some.
6″ Marvel Legends (Hasbro)
First revealed on MarvelousNews last year, this stunning figure of Spider-Man: Homecoming‘s main villain, the Vulture (played by Michael Keaton), will reportedly be the Build-a-Figure for an upcoming Spider-Man-themed Marvel Legends wave. To be more specific, the gigantic wings will be the wave’s BAF, with the Vulture figure being a single-packed figure in the wave. The wings alone are said to have a whopping 12 points of articulation. The wave, which is expected to come out around the same time as the movie’s release, will supposedly have a line-up consisting of the Vulture, MCU Spider-Man, Tombstone, Cosmic Spider-Man, Beetle (most likely the much-awaited classic version), Moon Knight, and an unidentified character codenamed “Dead Meat.”
6″ (to be confirmed) Spider-Man: Homecoming Figures and Feature Figures Assortment (Hasbro)
For younger toy enthusiasts, Hasbro has also prepared a line of Spider-Man: Homecoming toys that feature action features/gimmicks and limited articulation. The line also includes a Spider-Racer vehicle, a Vulture Attack Playset, and a 4′ Spider-Man Mega City Playset (compatible with 6″ figures).
Interestingly, one of these photos gives us a good look at Spidey’s proto-costume – and it’s actually quite reminiscent of Scarlet Spider/Ben Reilly‘s costume from the comics!

Each Minimates mini-figure has 14 points of articulation, as well as alternate, interchangeable parts. This wave of Minimates will likely be released in June.
Marvel Select (7″) Spider-Man: Homecoming Figure (Diamond Select)
This figure features 16 points of articulation, as well as interchangeable parts. Even though there are no images currently available, you can pre-order this figure as early as now.
